A day in the life of a Mermaid....

I have often wondered what it would be like to be a mermaid. How deep in the ocean do they really live? Can they see colors and light that is so far advanced to human ability, in able to see in the darkest depths of the ocean? Do they have a special light source that is not known to land living man to illuminate the deepest darkest waters? Do they rule all the creatures of the ocean, or do they live by truce with the more powerful creatures of the deep? How long do they live? What is their culture like? What do they have in replace of dancing? Do they have artists? Do they have special kinds of books that can be under water? Do they speak a specific language or all languages? What is their music like? Can they talk to the fellow sea creatures? What do they eat? What is it like to swim in the deep? I have so many questions that the only solution is for me to either become good friends with a mermaid (so I can ask her all the questions I have bubbling inside without her being bothered by my impertinence…), or make friends with a fairy who can grant me (safely of course) the ability to become a mermaid for a time (A day perhaps) to experience it for myself.
